April 18th, 2012
Wednesday, April 25th will be the coordinated Grand Opening Day for Obama HQs all over the state - and that includes us! Join us for snacks and libations at our La Plata Dems / Obama Headquarters Grand Opening Celebration at 572 E. 3rd Avenue on April 25th from 5:30-7:30. The Obama campaign will be opening numerous headquarters statewide on the 25th and will be sending a special guest speaker to Durango. Colorado has been designated a "battleground" state for the upcoming election so a lot depends on us! Meet Heather Barr, Obama's field coordinator in SW Colorado, County Commissioner candidates, Gwen Lachalt and Julie Westendorff, and State House candidate Mike McLachlan. Check out our space, sign up to help, and make sure we win in November!
The La Plata Dems have signed up for a booth at the Green Living Expo, Saturday April 21st (10-5) and Sunday April 22nd (10-3). We will be registering voters and displaying candidate information. This is a fun and educational event and we encourage people to attend.
We have a few people who have signed up to help staff the booth but we need more. This is a great opportunity for candidates to get exposure with a friendly crowd! Please contact Ellen Stein ellenrobinstein@msn.com if you can be there for a shift!
Join Mark Udall at the Sorrel Sky Gallery on Saturday, April 28th from 1:30-3pm for a reception and fundraiser. Contact Rachel Gordon at (303) 570-5446 or rachel@rkgdevelopment.com for more information.
